![]() New Jersey became the 3rd state in the US on December 18, 1787. The state capital is Trenton and is the 9th most populous state in America. The state bird is the Goldfinch, the state tree the Red Oak and the largest industry is farming, (a little known fact), mainly potatoes, tomatoes and peaches. We moved to New Jersey 5 1/2 years ago after a decade in Manhattan, looking for space and public schools. To our delight we also found a state that offers diversity with its lush woods and sandy beaches; crystalline lakes and skiing in the winter. We've found a comfortable, suburban lifestyle and can still be in downtown NYC in less than forty minutes. I'm so pleased to be a part of Jennifer's Americana project. Do stop by this week for a glimpse into the beauty that is New Jersey. |
